CatTower's photo collage maker is a free online tool that combines 2 to 9 PNG, JPEG or WebP photos side by side, stacked or in an even grid, with the gap and background you choose, into one PNG, JPEG or WebP image, in your browser.

  • Input: 2–9 PNG, JPEG or WebP photos, up to 20 MB in total and 40 megapixels each, checked by their content and opened with their EXIF orientation.
  • Layouts: side by side, stacked, or an even grid of 1–3 columns (by default the square root of the number of photos, rounded up); Fill (centre crop) or Fit (whole photo) in each cell.
  • Gap 0–100 px and a background color or transparency; saving as JPEG turns a transparent background white.
  • Size: automatic (the largest natural size within 40 megapixels and 16,384 px on the longest side) or a custom width and height within the same limits.
  • Output: PNG, JPEG or WebP (quality 60–95), named after the first photo with -collage added (for example beach-collage.jpg) and drawn once at full size in your browser; the photos are not uploaded to CatTower's servers.

How to use

  1. Drop or choose 2 to 9 PNG, JPEG or WebP photos, up to 20 MB in total and 40 megapixels each.
  2. Put them in order: drag a photo, or use its up and down buttons. The position (for example 2 / 5) is shown on each photo, and you can replace or remove any of them.
  3. Pick Side by side, Stacked or Grid (1–3 columns), then Fill (the centre is cropped) or Fit (the whole photo shows), the gap (0–100 px) and a background color or transparency.
  4. Keep the automatic size or type a width and height, and check the preview and the size written under it.
  5. Choose PNG, JPEG or WebP (quality 60–95 for JPEG and WebP), select Make collage and download the file.

FAQ

No. Your browser opens, arranges and saves the photos on your device. They are not uploaded to CatTower's servers, and their names, how many there are, their order and your settings are not sent to analytics. Anything else running on your device, such as extensions, is outside the site's control.

2 to 9 PNG, JPEG or WebP photos, up to 20 MB in total and 40 megapixels each (for example 8000 × 5000 px). The collage itself can be at most 40 megapixels and 16,384 px on its longest side. The automatic size shrinks to fit these limits; a custom size over them is refused before anything is drawn.

Fill covers each cell completely and crops the centre of the photo, so nothing is left empty but the edges may be cut. Fit shows the whole photo inside its cell, with the background around it. There is no per-photo pan or zoom: Fill always keeps the centre.

Side by side, every photo takes the height of the tallest one; stacked, the width of the widest one; in a grid, every cell has the photos' average shape and as many pixels as the largest photo. The gap is added in pixels. If the result would pass 40 megapixels or 16,384 px on a side, the photos are scaled down until it fits, and the page says so.

The preview is a smaller copy. The file is drawn once at full size, directly from your original photos with the same layout as the preview, and encoded once, so quality is not lost to repeated saving. JPEG and WebP use the quality you set (60–95).

Yes, in PNG and WebP. JPEG cannot store transparency, so a transparent background becomes white when you save as JPEG; the page tells you before you save.

Yes. Each photo is opened with its EXIF orientation applied, so it is placed the way it is shown on your phone. The saved collage does not carry EXIF metadata such as the camera or location.

Yes. Every photo has move up, move down, replace and remove buttons and shows its position, such as 2 / 5, so dragging is never the only way to reorder. Moves are announced to screen readers, and the size and layout of the result are written under the preview.

It is named after your first photo with -collage added, for example beach-collage.jpg, and the extension always matches the format you chose.
