In short

CatTower's PDF to JPG or PNG is a free online PDF-to-image tool that turns each selected page of a PDF into its own JPG or PNG image at 96, 150 or 300 DPI in your browser, and bundles several images into one ZIP.

  • Input: one PDF, up to 20 MB and 200 pages. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
  • Output: JPG (quality 60–95, default 85) or PNG on a white background, at 96, 150 or 300 DPI (default 150).
  • Pages: all pages, or pages and ranges such as 1-3, 5. One image downloads directly; two or more come as a ZIP.
  • Size limit: up to 16 million pixels per page and 100 million pixels per conversion.
  • Privacy: the PDF is processed in your browser and not uploaded to CatTower's servers.

How to use

  1. Drop one PDF or choose it. It can be up to 20 MB and 200 pages.
  2. Keep All pages, or choose Page range and enter pages such as 1-3, 5.
  3. Pick JPG or PNG and a resolution: 96, 150 or 300 DPI. For JPG you can also set the quality from 60 to 95.
  4. Select Convert to images. One page downloads as an image; several pages download together as one ZIP file.

FAQ

No. Your browser draws the pages and saves them as images on your device, and the PDF is not uploaded to CatTower's servers. Anything else running on your device, such as extensions, is outside the site's control.

JPG makes smaller files and suits photos and scanned pages; its quality setting (60–95, default 85) trades file size for detail. PNG is lossless and keeps text and line art sharp, but its files are larger. Both have a white background.

96 DPI is enough for screens and messaging, 150 DPI (the default) suits most documents and slides, and 300 DPI is for printing or zooming in. A higher DPI makes larger images and a longer conversion.

Each selected page becomes its own image, named like report-page-03.jpg. When you convert more than one page, the images are downloaded together as one ZIP file (report-images.zip) in page order.

So your browser does not run out of memory, one page can be at most 16 million pixels and one conversion 100 million pixels in total: about 46 A4 pages at 150 DPI or 11 at 300 DPI. Choose fewer pages or a lower DPI.

No. Password-protected (encrypted) PDFs are not supported. Remove the password in another app first, then convert that copy.
